Kansas cop sues taser manufacturer
A former Kansas City, Kansas, police officer has filed a lawsuit against Taser International - the makers of the weapon - claiming that he was injured during a February 2004 training exercise.

Former officer David Howard says he was suffered a fractured vertebrae during the taser training which involves receiving a 50 thousand volt shock from one of the devices. His lawsuit claims that the company failed to warn and misleading police departments about the potential risk of injury the weapons pose. Howard is one of a dozen officers who have filed similar lawsuits against the company.
