US military tests tasers on live pigs
The United States military conducted tests of tasers on live pigs in 2002.
It was reported last week that the Department of Defense conducted the tests at a military base in Texas. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals used the Freedom of information Act to obtain a video of the tests which was distributed to the media. They say the tests are not necessary because of the availability of more reliable human data.
