New Brunswick sex assault cop may keep job
A New Brunswick Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer was sentenced to two months of house arrest for a sexual assault.

The CBC reports that sergeant Alain Heon was accused of groping and touching the wife of one of his subordinate officers. In addition to the brief house arrest he must also register as a sex offender. During an internal review of the charges Heon was sentenced a fine equal to 20 days pay. The RCMP had arranged for him to keep his job but public outrage has forced them to reconsider that decision and the officer may face termination from his job in the future.

this is so typical.I shudder to think what gets covered up!These guys have been getting away with this type of stuff for years.I also want to commend bad cop for adding the lgbt section.I knew only one descent cop in my life and he was a gay man.He had to endure years of abuse and harassment while the worthless scum who beat their wives and screw around on them got to keep their jobs.If police forces were hiring good people who were suited for the job to begin with none of this shit would go on.

Nonsense. The RCMP did not "arrange for him to keep his job". He lost his job because of the sentence he received. The RCMP Act is very clear on disciplinary measures that are to be taken when one of their officers is convicted of a criminal offence. It had nothing to do with public pressure.
Yes, he made a terrible error in judgement...one that cost him his career, and got him a criminal record.
