Connecticut town settles excessive force lawsuit
The town of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, has agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by a man who claimed that police used excessive force in his August 2001 arrest.

The Manchester Journal Inquirer says that officers Joseph Oliveira and David Provencher were accused of leaving the man in a car in 98 degree heat, physically assaulting the man and other acts of abuse. The man claimed that he did not resist the officers during his arrest. Last week the town agreed to settle the lawsuit for 45 hundred dollars.
