North Carolina cop arrested for passing fake $90,000 cheque
A sheriff's deputy in Durham County, North Carolina, was arrested last Monday for allegedly trying to scam his bank out of 90 thousand dollars.

WRAL reports that deputy Eric Evans is charged with obtaining property under false pretences. Evans is accused of depositing a counterfeit 90 thousand dollar cheque into his bank account on March 13th and then withdrawing a significant amount of that money before the cheque was discovered to be counterfeit several days later. He is on paid leave and will appear in court next on July 18th.
