Oregon chief arrested for altering report
The chief of police in Phoenix, Oregon, was arrested last Tuesday for altering a report to protect his police officer son.
The Oregonian reports that chief Bob Kershaw is charged with forgery, hindering prosecution, official misconduct, tampering with physical evidence and tampering with public records. Police were called to a home on January 27th where Andrew Kershaw - the chief's son - was consuming alcohol and marijuana with another Phoenix police officer and several minors. One of the minors had been reported missing. When the Jackson County Sheriff's Department took over the investigation it was determined that the reports turned over by chief Kershaw had been altered so that his son was no longer implicated.
