Manitoba cop arrested for drunk driving

A police officer in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is facing charges after being caught drinking drunk last week.

The Winnipeg Sun reports that constable Dean Lambert is charged with impaired driving and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. Lambert was arrested by police in Selkirk, Manitoba, where he will appear in court next on May 16th. He has been released from custody and has been suspended from his job with pay pending the outcome of an internal hearing. Lambert is the third Winnipeg police officer to be charged with impaired driving in the last 14 months. Darren Cole was charged after a collision last September and Derek Harvey-Zenk was charged with impaired driving causing death in February 2005 following a fatal collision which killed a Winnipeg teenager.
