Iowa cop charged with assault on wife
A police officer in Eagle Grove, Iowa, was charged on Friday with a March assault on his wife.

KCCI reports that officer Brandon Meyer had been allowed to remain on the job after the March 29th incident but was suspended with pay on Monday after city officials learned of the charges. Meyer is accused of pushing his wife onto the floor and then placing his knee on her chest in a manner which made it difficult for her to breathe. He is also accused of injuring his wife's ear by ripping out an earring during the assault. Meyers was also charged with domestic assault in 2003 but the charge was eventually dismissed.
